Group Chat

The group chat that knows about your trip.

It's a real chat — real-time, with reactions, replies, GIFs, the works. But it also knows about the trip. New member joins? It says so. Phase changes? Logged. Need a quick poll? It's one tap, no third-party bot.

Send a message...
A chat thread with reactions, a system message, and an inline poll.

Everything you'd expect

  • Reactions
Tap-and-hold any message to react. Globe ships with a curated set; the full emoji picker is one swipe away.
  • Replies
Threaded replies keep side-conversations from drowning the main thread.
  • GIFs & images
Search GIFs inline, or paste images straight from your camera roll.
  • @mentions
Tag a member to push a notification, even if they've muted the trip.

Inline polls

Type /poll, add 2–10 options, hit send. Members vote with one tap. Polls live inline — no extra screen, no losing context. Use them for quick yes/no's, restaurant picks, or which day to book the museum.

System messages

When something happens to the trip — a new member joins, the phase advances, the dates change, a proposal gets locked — Globe drops a styled system message into the chat. They're visually distinct so you can scan past them, or tap to jump to the relevant tab.

Quiet mode
Mute a trip's chat from settings — system messages still appear in the trip's activity log, but your phone stays silent.
Pro tips
  • Pin the chat to your dashboard for trips you're actively planning.
  • Use polls instead of long debates — quicker, less awkward, and the result lives in the trip.
