Add expenses as they happen, choose how to split, and let Globe handle the math. The summary tab tells you exactly who owes whom — settled in the cleanest possible chain of payments, not 28 individual transfers.

Logging an expense
Amount & currency
Type the amount, pick the currency. Globe auto-converts to the trip's home currency for the running totals.
Category
Food, transport, accommodation, activities, groceries, other. Each gets an icon and a color so the list is scannable.
Who paid
Tap a member's avatar. Defaults to you.
Split type
Equally across everyone, custom amounts per person, or only among a subset (e.g. the three people who did the ski lesson).
Receipt photo
Optional. Snap or upload — useful for reimbursable work trips and tax.
Live balance
The summary tab updates the moment someone logs an expense. It shows your personal balance (positive = you're owed, negative = you owe) and the optimal settlement — the smallest number of payments needed to zero everyone out.
Settle up
When the trip wraps, the settle-up screen lays out the payment plan. Tap a row to mark it as paid (Globe trusts you — no payment processor in the loop). Each settled row gets archived but stays viewable in the trip's history.
Multi-currency
Travelling across countries? Each expense keeps its original currency. Conversions use the rate on the day of the expense, not the day of settlement.
- Log expenses on the day, not at the end. Memory is unreliable; receipts get lost.
- Use 'Only among' for activities where not everyone joined — most fights start with mis-splits.
