Most planning apps throw every feature at you on day one. Globe doesn't. A trip moves through four phases, and the tabs you see adapt to where you are. Booking flights? You won't see expenses yet. Already in Lisbon? The chat and itinerary jump to the front.

The four phases
Gathering
You've created the trip but you're still figuring out who's in. Invites, a group chat, and a basic 'About' tab — that's it. Keep it light.
Planning
The crew is locked. Now Availability, Budget, Proposals, Itinerary, Tasks, and Notes all unlock so the group can plan together.
Active
You're on the trip. Itinerary moves to a 'Today' view, the chat surfaces, and a live expenses tracker pins to the home tab.
Completed
The trip wraps. Globe collects everything into a Memory page, asks each member for a review, and adds the destination to your map.
How phases change
Globe nudges the trip forward automatically based on dates and member status — but the trip owner can also advance phases manually from the trip settings. You can also rewind a phase if something changes (a flight cancellation, a new co-planner joining late).
Why this matters
Tabs aren't hidden forever — they're hidden until they're relevant. If you really want to peek at the full feature set, the trip settings menu lets you unlock everything early.
Pro tips
If you're planning a last-minute trip, you can skip Gathering entirely and start in Planning.
The phase indicator at the top of the trip is tappable — use it to jump between phases when revisiting later.
